We are always looking for new ways to learn, improve, and challenge ourselves as photographers and animal lovers. Having 4 goats in the studio was definitely that and more. I was well aware that having goats in the studio would not be practical and would be messy (I may have sat in pee) but documenting the beauty and personality of these animals was worth the effort.
Welcome to FLUFF-uary! We want to share the amazing pets who have been entered in our photo session giveaway. These 27 animals are obviously all photo worthy, but only one can win. You may cast your vote once per day by filling out the form at the bottom of this post.
Any pet is a commitment to care for and protect. Their life is entirely dependent on you. Knowing what you are getting into as a pet owner is important for both you and the animal, so we strongly encourage anyone thinking about getting a new pet to do their research and never stop learning how to be the best caretaker possible.
I've worked with Jessica before, so I knew she'd be professional. She was engaged with Lola and made sure she was always comfortable. I had briefly mentioned that Lola has some neurological issues in the past, and she changed up her setup with no hesitation.
Professional headshots are important to me because I believe it is crucial to have a good looking representation of yourself. Whether that is in a suit and tie or everyday clothes. I think it is smart to have a professional's point of view and skills to help you best stand out.
Often times, smaller animals get overlooked for the important role they play in our lives, and the joy they bring. Members of the rodent family have shorter life spans. There are people who think this gives them less value, but having a pet that is time-limited makes those moments even more precious.
Documenting senior pets is very important to me. As I see my own dogs aging, I can imagine how important their photos will be when they are gone. We don’t get as many years as we would like, but we can choose to capture their time with us through photos.
One of our goals this year is to work with new types of creatures. As Toledo pet photographers, we want to show that we are not limited to dogs and cats. We will photograph pets with scales, with feathers and even hairless ones. All your beloved family members deserve to be documented.
I was very excited to document a new breed of cattle. The characteristic that stood out to me about these Highlanders was their curiosity. These particular cattle are not very accustomed to being up close and personal with humans but that did not stop them from trying to investigate the camera or myself. Highland cattle are known for their friendly nature with humans.
He will always be my baby boy and my 65lb weighted blanket. He brings so much joy and cheer into our lives. Also a lot of mischief and borking for attention, but his positive attributes are so worth it. Titan is all fun and games until someone is upset... He will climb on top of you and force you to pet him until you feel better.
Did you know that we don’t just photograph headshots in the studio? We also offer for our clients to have their professional photos outdoors. These photos with Matthew were taken at Wildwood Metropark. We stayed close to the manor house but focused specifically on brick and leafy areas.
Working with different animals shows me how each species has a variety of personalities and temperaments. The biggest thing that I have learned is to be patient and to have realistic expectations of an an animal.
We are so excited to be offering Lavender field sessions this year! Last summer was our first time at Luckey Road Lavender Farm. Kylee has such a beautiful field and she welcomed dogs with no hesitation. Speaking of dogs, this post features Reise, the Luckey Lavender resident dog. She stole our hearts and we loved getting to document her.

Natalie was on the go during her photoshoot, either crawling or walking with assistance, so I had to be ready and anticipate her movement. She was a joy to document because she is one of the happiest little girls I have known. (I might be a little biased because she is my niece, but now I have the photos to prove it!)
Why are professional headshots important to you? “They are the face you put out to the world, so you want them to be an honest reflection of how you look and how you present yourself to prospective clients and opposing counsel.”
Women’s History month means we want to show off some of the amazing ladies we have gotten to work with. Lexie volunteered last summer to stand in for some headshots when Jessica was training. Since these photos were taken, Lexie has opened her own studio space and really begun to build her own photography brand here in Toledo. It is really wonderful to see our peers growing and contributing to our industry!
Despite his talent and passion for the city, the first thing I noticed about Doug was his dog. A golden doodle named Elsa who never seemed to leave his side. He often shares images of her tagging along on his adventures at work throughout the region. When I learned that Elsa had been there for Doug through some hard things, I knew that their story was worth sharing this month.
Imagine looking into the eyes of an animal that if it weren’t for your organization providing a safe haven for them, they would not be alive today. There’s a weight that it carries. Not because you succeeded in rescuing their life, but because every time you look at them you think of the millions of others that weren’t so lucky.
